This 3PL provider specializes in providing Warehousing, Distribution, and Transportation. This role will bring increased expertise and functionality to the company, partnering with internal and external customers as we manage and improve our transitional processes. This position will primarily work in a warehouse environment.

SUMMARY: Manages the safe, efficient, and timely flow and warehousing of goods; actively implements and controls the overall distribution concept and strategy.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitors and controls the order process, ensuring efficient and adequate flow of goods.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains processes to reduce costs and increase customer service.
  • Coordinates activities of departments to deliver efficient material movement to drive costs/inventory investment down while improving accuracy and response time to customers.
  • Manages the supply chain at the plant level, interfacing with vendors, third-party providers, and the materials/supply chain system.
  • Supports plant business units’ goals of quality, safety, productivity, and customer service.
  • Oversees scheduling of production and packaging operations, procurement of materials, inventory control, and the effective utilization of personnel within the materials/logistics group.
  • Works closely with plant warehouse, packaging, and procurement operations; provides necessary product quantities, correct orders, and on-time deliveries through proper daily production scheduling of packaging and processing materials.
  • Reviews and participates in the scheduling of production operations to ensure support of customer requirements.
  • Reviews, analyzes, modifies, and implements efficient and effective department processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Prepares all required reports and correspondence.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors department budget; manages expenses within approved budget constraints.
  • Manage receiving, shipping, handling, distribution, processing and storage of all products.
  • Identify inventory needs based on demands, budgets, and keep maintained.
  • Maintain software of sales orders, shipping, receiving and RMA’s.
  • Ensure resources and utilization of warehouse space
  • Ensure full-capacity operations of labor and equipment
  • Identifies, documents, and implements opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops logistics staff; manages schedules and workflow.
  • Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations.
  • Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance.
  • Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in Logistics or related field
  • Two to four years related experience or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates
