Job Description:

OVERVIEW

Urban Treez is a premiere award-winning cannabis dispensary located in the world’s largest cannabis marketplace, Los Angeles. We have been part of the cannabis movement for over a decade and want to expand our brand and experience across the country. The Assistant Store Manager (ASM) supports the overall management and performance of an Urban Treez store to ensure that it is meeting or exceeding customer service standards, P&L objectives, operating procedures, and all merchandising objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operations:

  • Reporting to the GM
  • Supports GM to oversee the operations of the business and strive to achieve store sales goals
  • Supervision of the POS software, and customer initiatives, maximal presence on sales floor
  • Ensure proper use of all processes, guidelines (operations, HR issues, financial issues, health and safety) as set by the company or federal, state, or local law
  • Assist management with the supervision of planning staff scheduling and attendance
  • Execution of stock control and filing of stock data to minimize stock losses
  • Support retail team in building the right assortment for the dispensary
  • Ensure proper cash handling and money taken balances with information given by the POS system daily, and justify and correct any discrepancy
  • Supervise semi-annual inventory and rectify any discrepancies
  • Monitoring of supply levels and respect order guidelines
  • Open & closing key holding responsibilities
  • Maintain company standards of cleanliness and organization
  • Ensure execution of excellent visual merchandising according to company guidelines
  • Maintain sales floor, fixtures, products, packaging, and back stock areas to company standards
  • Monitor all store equipment regularly to ensure safety
  • Plan and execute marketing activities in conjunction with the marketing manager
  • Identify key areas within the market for new business development opportunities

Staff Management:

  • Effectively communicate / review store sales performance and corporate directives with staff
  • Recruitment and hiring of Budtenders according to HR guidelines
  • Develop team members through ongoing and annual appraisal by evaluating and monitoring individual monthly sales goals, KPIs, operations, and customer service
  • Discipline of staff in conjunction with the company policies and employee handbook

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • 3-5 years of recent retail and supervisory experience required
  • Bachelor level degree or higher preferred
  • Capability to ensure that the operations are efficient and effective, understanding the business’s overall goals and objectives, and use of concrete information to run the business successfully. Ability to think analytically, communicate effectively, and execute efficiently in extremely organized manner is essential.
