The firm is searching for a Controller to manage its complex finance and accounting systems. This is an entrepreneurial company with a steep career trajectory for the right candidate. They are seeking a strong problem-solver who will not only manage the existing needs of the firm but also manage growth efficiently and proactively.
Responsibilities:
- Manage accounting operations, financial and tax reporting, payroll, benefits, and other such duties as needed
- Establish and monitor operating policies, processes, and systems to ensure that the organization complies with all laws, regulations, and accounting standards
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. Respond and resolve federal, state and local tax notices
- Develop and oversee the operating budget and advise management on financial impact of new initiatives
- Lead annual financial statement preparation process, including interfacing with external accountants
- Oversee human resources team
- Provide operational and management support for company's continued growth
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or similar field, required
- 7+ of experience in a managerial accounting role, required
- Compliance expertise preferred
- Strong knowledge of payroll, invoicing, and bookkeeping
- Strong knowledge of Quickbooks (accounting software)
- Ability to remain organized while managing multiple details
