Position Overview:
The Cultivation Technician is responsible for providing manual labor to support the activities and operations of the Cultivation Department, while abiding by policies, procedures, and operational guidelines. This is a position that requires previous knowledge and experience of indoor cannabis cultivation techniques.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily duties with the Director of Cultivation and Lead Cultivator including: equipment acquisition, maintenance, training, schedules, personnel, and quality assurance;
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal billing or licensing requirements;
- Proficient in all aspects of cannabis cultivation;
- Knowledge of all cannabis life cycles, nutrient deficiencies, and disease and pest identification;
- Organizational skills, good hygiene, best practices, and attention to detail;
- Effective communication and listening skills and the ability to receive or give direction;
- Operate as an independent team member;
- Reading, writing, computer literacy, and basic math skills;
- Complete assigned tasks and projects in accordance with Cultivation policies, schedules, and data collection;
- Properly document plant inspections, nutrient application, equipment checks, and cleaning lists;
- Maintain daily inventory tracking system in accordance with company and Nevada State policies;
- Properly create tracking ID tags for plants and update stages of growth;
- Safe handling, use, cleaning, and calibration of all cultivation tools and instruments;
- Disinfect Cultivation rooms and irrigation equipment;
- Ensure all department assigned objectives and deadlines are met;
- Perform physical tasks such as grasping, lifting, walking, standing, and repetitive motions for long periods;
- Abide by and enforce all department safety programs;
- Adhere to all company and Nevada state policies in an ethical manner;
- Performs other duties as may be required from time to time including: assisting other departments and facility maintenance.
Required Education:
- HS Diploma or equivalent.
Required Experience:
- Previous cannabis manufacturing/cultivation experience: minimum 2 years;
- Combination of experience and education considered.
Additional Requirements:
- Applicant must be at least 21 years of age;
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check;
- Must be eligible to register for a Nevada Marijuana Establishment Agent Card;
- Must be able to meet physical demands and arduous labor including: lifting, carrying and balancing of 125 lbs., and walking and standing for extended periods of time, as well as stooping, bending over, and/or crouching.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience and knowledge of cultivation tools and methods used for Cannabis;
- Previous agriculture, warehouse, greenhouse, manufacturing, or laborer experience;
- Familiarity with mechanized environmental controls and nutrient recipe mixing;
- Skills that relate to general mechanics, carpentry, plumbing, and troubleshooting of equipment used in cultivation operations.
