Job Description:

Our client, a vertically integrated female-led company in the cannabis industry, is seeking a Production Operations Manager for their facility near Lake George, NY. The company cultivates, manufactures, and dispenses the highest-quality medical marijuana products available on the market.

The Production Operations Manager will oversee the daily operations within their cultivation and manufacturing facilities, while maintaining strict compliance with New York State Regulations, and supervise department managers for cultivation, manufacturing, and inventory.

Job Description and Responsibilities

  • Conduct weekly team meetings with the department managers within the companys cultivation and manufacturing facility geared towards reviewing and maintaining production and development schedules.
  • Provide a weekly report on all departments within the facility to companys executives.
  • Perform HR-type duties including assisting department managers in selecting candidates to interview, approving PTO requests, and conducting performance reviews for the department managers.
  • Ensure that all positions within the facility are properly staffed, and maintain the essential functions of the Cultivation and Manufacturing Facility through hiring and overseeing technicians including; HVAC, security, construction, outdoor and maintenance.
  • Responsibility for troubleshooting manufacturing equipment or production issues, and implement changes and improvements as necessary and promote a culture of continuous change and improvement within the facility.
  • Oversee the incorporation of more automated systems for reporting, daily scheduling, and production within the their facility.
  • Represent the company in local organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development Committee, and other community-centered organizations.
  • Develop, edit and produce Standard Operating Procedure documents for the companys bi-annual licensing renewals.
  • Travel to and attend at least 3 or more industry conferences and educational summits for the purpose of networking and sourcing products or services that may improve operations, and travel to weekly or bi-weekly meetings close to New York City.
  • Develop and present cost analyses to upper management related to proposed purchases, upgrades, or system changes.
  • Organize and oversee time trials to measure efficiency and aid in a practical, yet aggressive production schedule.
Job Requirements and Competencies

  • Bachelors degree in related field required
  • 10+ years of experience in food, pharmaceutical, or other manufacturing settings
  • 5+ years of related management experience
  • Excellent reporting capabilities, with technical skills related to record keeping, data analysis and presentations
  • Experience using programs such as Smartsheet and Tableau for organization and data reporting
  • Cannabis Industry Experience a Plus
Compensation

$120-130K Plus Benefits
