JOB PURPOSE

This accounting position in our Sacramento office will have various responsibilities ensuring the day to day operational needs are met. This would include cash management, paying state and local taxes, accounts receivable and troubleshooting questions. This individual must work quickly and efficiently, and adaptable to change priorities and tasks as needed. We have a very fast- paced environment as we continue to grow and expand. Must be motivated, trustworthy, have Excel skills, and be a team player.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises California accounts receivable and payable team.
  • Specializes in city and state cannabis taxes including cultivation and excise taxes.
  • Calculates California Sales and Use Tax.
  • Reviews vendor invoices and employee expense reports for appropriate documentation and validity prior to payment.
  • Prepares payments, assigning account numbers; requesting disbursements; reconciling accounts.
  • Coordinates with other departments to arrange PO’s for equipment and supplies.
  • Manages California cash logs for accuracy.
  • Resolves and provide answers to corporate accounting as needed.
  • Prepares consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Ad Hoc reporting
  • Support function for inventory audits
  • Miscellaneous office duties
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
  • Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-3 years bookkeeping/accounting experience
  • Experience using Quickbooks in an office setting
  • Microsoft Dynamics NAV experience preferred
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Prefer individual with a 4-year degree in Accounting or Business.

COMPENSATION

  • Depends on experience.
