Vice President of Strategic PMO

The VP, Global Project Management Office will be responsible for leading the Project Management Office in a global risk management and execution-focused manner. The focus for this position is to drive organizational effectiveness and accountability and equally serves as a key liaison with departmental leaders and their verticals. This position facilitates planning, prioritization, collaboration and reporting between groups and delivery of the end product. This individual demonstrates a thorough understanding of project management methodologies, as well as the ability to execute and interact with business partners and cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are achieved.

The PMO is responsible for coordinating the execution of MedMen’s numerous near-term and long-term projects that support the company’s key strategic initiatives. This coordination includes managing all aspects of implementing the portfolio of these strategic initiatives across the enterprise: working with MedMen’s senior leadership team to define scope, manage work products and plans, and ensuring initiatives are delivered within the defined scope, quality, time and cost requirements.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

PMO development and oversight

Interview, hire, coach, train and develop staff. This includes, but not limited to, employee development, staff evaluations, and performance management of assigned staff.
Drives the adoption and implementation of project and program management methodology and oversees project and program management coaching. Establishes methodologies and governance for the Organization.
Establishes a program to ensure utilization and maturation of best practice project management standards and methodologies. Fosters an environment for team and individual growth and success by providing mentoring and training in Project management established processes, policies, and procedures.
Implement communities of practice in the area of Project Management and Process Engineering while transforming it to support an Enterprise Agile Organization.
Develop and manage detailed project plans for complex programs with matrixed stakeholders across all departments
Develop and manage the company’s project portfolio
Develop common PMO processes, tools, and project governance to be leveraged on selected enterprise or transformation projects.

Communication and Reporting

Defines metrics and reports to ensure successful project delivery; globally
Sets standards to be implemented to capture meaningful data; distributes the data and insights to key leaders across the organization
Monitor and report on various projects to keep stakeholders informed of the progress.
Develop executive level briefing material and associated analytics to guide and steer decision making.
Create and manage reporting of status and progress along with team communication

Demand management

Works closely with all constituents to prioritize programs and projects based on business needs, resource capacity, risk exposure and interdependencies.
Ensures that investments and initiatives are aligned with business strategy and priorities.
Evaluate current processes and implement global practice improvements to ensure Organization alignment and frictionless delivery

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in business, IT, finance, or accounting; MBA preferred.
Proven track record of building and running a successful PMO
Excellent analytical and Excel-based modeling skills.
Proven leadership and interpersonal skills to coach, motivate, develop and manage a team.
Strong communication and relationship building skills at senior levels, with the ability to interpret and summarize data to help management achieve strategic and operational goals.
Experience leading cross-disciplinary, cross-functional projects to drive business process change affecting multiple business units.
Clear and articulate oral and written communication skills, including report writing and presentation skills.
Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
Excellent project management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently in a rapidly changing environment
High degree of organization and ability to manage multiple, competing projects and priorities simultaneously
PMP certification required
5+ years’ experience with project management in a matrixed environment
Proven experience of managing projects, budgets and justifying resource needs to senior leaders and finance partners
