Job Description:

Company Overview: The Company is a producer of award-winning, high-quality, indoor cannabis for the Oregon recreational market. The Company operates a large, highly-sophisticated indoor cultivation facility in the St. John area of Portland and produces both flower as well as an array of extracted products. The Company’s customers include dispensaries, extraction companies and wholesalers in the Greater Portland and broader Oregon market. The Company recently completed construction of its facility and launched operations and is looking to build a best-in-class sales team to complement its existing operations team. This fall, the Company will also be opening its first recreational dispensary, which is expected to be in NW Portland.

Summary: The VP of Sales will manage all sales-related activities for the Company. This will include sourcing new client accounts, managing ongoing client relationships and building out a robust sales organization as the Company continues to grow. The VP of Sales will work closely with the Company’s executive team to set pricing and negotiate with buyers, as well act as a key source of information and knowledge on the Oregon market to help inform strain and product planning. The VP of Sales will also work closely with the Company’s branding and marketing team to craft and execute strategic initiatives designed to increase brand awareness and drive sales growth.

Compensation: Base salary of $40-60K (depending on experience) with significant performance-based incentives intended to increase annual compensation to $100-125K+. Annual raises to base salary based on performance and significant opportunities to advance within the Company. The position will come with a standard benefits package.

Roles and Responsibilities

New client sourcing

  • Prospect and meet with potential buyers
  • Attend tradeshows and conferences
  • Visit retail stores, and wholesale / extraction companies
  • Deliver sales presentations, coordinate select facility tours and close new accounts

Existing client management

  • Negotiate pricing and terms
  • Negotiate and prepare contracts
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients
  • Manage day-to-day client activities
  • Monitor client expectations
  • Entertain clients
  • Respond to client feedback and concerns
  • Resolve client, sales, delivery, and payment issues
  • Manage account billing in conjunction with accounting team

Marketing

  • Develop and implement sales and marketing initiatives with marketing team
  • Develop marketing materials for use with new and existing clients
  • Ongoing market research / knowledge of market dynamics

Other

  • Manage inventory in conjunction with cultivation staff
  • Assist in the development and management of a robust sales organization

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or three to five years related experience and/or training
  • Experience and relationships in the Oregon cannabis industry a significant plus
  • Experience in sales a significant plus
  • Passion for the cannabis industry
  • Must be eligible for OLCC marijuana worker permit
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook as well as Salesforce
  • Sophisticated and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and positive team player
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to thrive in a fast paced, self-driven environment
